And the decision has been made......

Aldea at Tlaquepaque is the location. The date is January 27, 2010. We will sort out the rest of the details in the coming months. All I have to do know is sign the contract, and leave the deposit........I know I've been in this same spot before with the whole Vegas thing and all but, this time it's for sure.

We have also decided on a few key and FUN elements for our ceremony/reception. We really are wanting something that is mostly modern, with a few traditional elements. I also want something that really showcases our personalities and lifestyle. We met the Photographer that we want to use, she was so incredibly sweet, and her photos were incredible. We met a really talented Florist that does amazing things with white flowers with different textures with a really wintery feel to them.

Anyways, I have all of these ideas swirling around in my head, so much of it I want to share with the world, and well that same stuff I want to keep as a surprise.

Until next time,

Stephanie

Falling into place.....

The getting married in Hawaii has taken a detour. I was having nightmares about hiring vendors for things like photography, food, flowers, and signing contracts as well as leaving deposits and then getting to Hawaii 3 days before we are getting married and no longer having one or more of the vendors as well as not having any time to find new ones. So we've talked about it and have decided to get married in Arizona. We are then heading to Hawaii for our Honeymoon with the kids :).

Since the wedding will now take place locally, I attended the Bridal Expo yesterday at the Phoenix Convention Center. Oh my gosh was that place packed......TONS of Brides, TONS of Vendors, and surprisingly TONS of Grooms. Bonnie and I got to talk to Daisy at Aldea at Tlaquepaque for about 30 minutes about their venue, the pricing is FABULOUS, I checked out some more pictures online last night and the place is amazing. Jim, Jacqueline, and I are going to go to the Village Affair on Sunday, January 18, 2009 to scope it out in person, as well as meet with the vendors that come with the package (ex: photographer, DJ, officiant, and wedding coordinator) as well as look at the centerpiece and floral options. I am so so so so excited. We would have to find a videographer, and I met a really nice one at the Bridal Expo as well, possibly a florist for bridal party flowers, and I think that is it. I would need to find out if we are required to hire a bartender and security, or not. The greatest thing about this place other than the absolutely phenomenal price tag is that we can bring in our own food and alcohol, my mom is looking forward to doing the cooking for the reception. I can't wait until Sunday! My favorite part is that we can have 10 guests or 200 guests and the price doesn't change.

I will post pictures from our visit next week, until then if you want to check out their website it is www.aldeaweddings.com. I think the only downside is that it is in Peoria. I was noticing that the majority of the venues on the West Side were a better value and THOUSANDS less than that of the majority of the venues on the East Side PLUS you get better deals.

Oh and we changed the theme and color scheme too.....it's going to be a winter theme with Snowflakes and the colors are going to be Black, White, Silver, and an Ice/Tiffany Blue.

Until next time,

Steph
